The Garden

So do you you remember the old metal workshop Pete pulled down with the skid steer? And then he broke up the concrete floor? Well, on that site, is where we've made our garden . . . and we used the broken concrete pieces to make some of the raised beds, as well as bricks from the chimney we pulled down.

Then Matthew & Amanda came last weekend and helped Pete put up a 6 foot high fence around the garden - to keep the deer out!!!
Yesterday was planting day for the start of the 2011 Green Pastures growing season! Five blueberry bushes - 4 rabbit eye ('Premier' (2), 'Climax', 'Tifblue' and 1 southern highbush 'Sunshine Blue'; a 'Brown Turkey' fig tree/bush; broccoli; chinese cabbage; onion chives and garlic chives I transplanted from home; 3 rosemary 'Salem' to add to the strawberries that were planted a few weeks ago.

As one of our local gardening program hosts always ends his show . . . "Happy Gardenin' Everyone!" P & D
