Farm House Foundation

So, if you haven't started with the earlier post today, start there and this will make more sense.

As you can see in the following pictures, first Pete needed to find out just what was under the house. There were large wood posts that were obviously original (when removed they were like paper). There were intact sills and some rotted sills as well as usable carrying timbers and some that would need to be replaced.

Next step was removing the floor, carrying timbers, bracing the structure, and replacing the sills.

New footers and piers are set. Fortunately, we have only had to buy bags and bags of Sakrete. Otherwise, we have been able to use concrete blocks and beams salvaged from our previous demolitions on the project.

Dirty & Sweaty,

Pete & Debby
