Pete is back to construction, but this time it didn't require a new foundation . . . well, ok . . . he did have to pour 10 yards of concrete to level the 7 inch slope.

We went to the SC State Fair looking for goats, chickens, and donkeys. This is a mini donkey I have my eye on . . . after Christmas!

Siding is Going Up
Pete has started the siding and thinks he's about 1/2 done with it. The gable ends and some of the other areas need to wait until the roofers return and finish the roof trim.
Enjoying the Garden
We have been enjoying the fruits of our garden this summer. The wax beans and lettuce are done. We're eating cabbage, tomatos, and cantelopes. The cucumbers were prolific and delicious! We turned the last of them into pickles.

Of course, the first week of July was the hottest on record here in Prosperity. Yes, you're reading that right, our thermometer (in the shade) reads 112. My car thermometer driving home from work read 117!!!
