As you can see by the size of Jill, we're getting close to her due date of February 14.
We're ready . . . .
The nursery has been spruced up. {We went with a rustic theme rather than pink or blue or primary colors :-}
And the bag is packed . . .
. . . that is the Kidding Kit is packed with essentials and "just in case"(s):
- Iodine-for dipping newborn navels
- Shot glass-to hold iodine during navel dipping
- Scissors dipped in alcohol-for trimming the umbilical cord if it breaks too long
- Cotton string-to tie off end of umbilical cord if needed
- Infant bulb syringe-to siphon mucus from kids' nostrils or throats
- Lubricant-just in case she needs help
- Lots of towels
- Molasses (at the house)-in warm water for after birth treat for Mom
- Powdered colostrum-just in case!
