I have been a very silent blogger . . . so here's a long catch up post. For those of you who usually receive our Greenlaw Christmas newsletter, this will give you the highlights of our year . . . look back through the previous posts.
So . . . we last left you with the clawfoot tub. Well, it's finished and installed in our new bathroom!
Remember this???? See below for the "after".
What else is new?
All the floors (except the kitchen) are replaced including the floor joists, insulation, and subfloor. The new furnace is installed and working great! Pete has rewired most of the electric. He's installed a new shower. We've laid out the basic garden with "stone" walls made from the concrete rubble from the old shop (see Aug 7 post). Looks really good! Debby has transplanted some of her favorite plants from the city home to the farm "nursery". We've had another big woodpile burn, made many more trips to the dump (we pay them) and metal recyling (they pay us), continued waging war on the wisteria, and killed 1 rat and 8 mice home invaders.
We put our house on the market (lots of lookers, hopefully soon a buyer). Pete had a stress test and his 3 month check and according to his cardiologist, his heart is "as though nothing happened". Mom & Dad are settled into their new patio home 10 minutes from the farm. Christmas gifts were a little different this year with Pete receiving a book on growing mushrooms and Debby receiving the supplies for a greenhouse and an alligator lopper!
We have a new puppy . . meet Duke. Why "Duke"? My grandfather's farm dogs were always named Duke . . . The Dukester is now almost 5 months old. He has been a great little dog and reminds us a lot of our Toby.
We're looking forward to the new year and will keep you posted here on the blog.
Pete and Debby
