First Overnight
Greetings from Green Pastures Farm
We are sitting in our farmhouse "kitchen" - I'm writing this blog post (yes we have DSL internet service!), Pete is watching TV, and Tobe is laying on a rug settling in for a nap before its bedtime. We've had bar-b-q chicken on the patio and then went on a walk on the "back 40" . . . ok the 'back 7".
So what's the status of the farm?
Pete has painted kitchen cabinets, some of the walls, and the tub. He's put a new sink in the kitchen and the bathroom. Debby has done a cleaning of the walls, windows and floors. She's burned some Yankee Candles, lined the kitchen cabinets, and filled them with an old set of Pfaltzgraft. There is even some coordinated decorating! Quite livable for a weekend.
Pete spent most of the day taking down one of the pole barns - this one was about 45' x24'. He was able to salvage a good deal of metal roofing, forty 2x8x12's, and still has a good bit of lumber to get down.
Now that he has his chainsaw back in working order, tomorrow starts pasture clearing with taking down some of the pines around the hardwoods and clearing heavy vines from the barns. I have been assigned brush removal and pulling nails from the boards that he removed from the pole barn today.
This is where we start tomorrow . . . . . . Better get to bed - busy day ahead!
